Shine
©2001
Shine is a dazzling blues-based heavy guitar roller coaster ride and a diverse collection of serious axe grinding from the gifted guitarist Craig Erickson. He 'outshines' the norm. This is the fifth solo release from the axeslinger supreme. Craig explores his deep rock / blues musical roots on the project and pays homage to some of his favorite guitar heros.....Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Eric Johnson, Tommie Bolin and the one and only Jimmi Hendrix.
The disc features two great rock vocalists! ROB LAMOTHE contributes his amazing vocals to 6 tracs, including the title cut "Shine." Lamothe digs down so deep into his heart he ends up in his gut and from there belts out a passionate slow burn version of the classic JIMI HENDRIX song "Angel".
Blues/Rock legend GLENN HUGHES lends his awesome powerhouse vocals to a soulful version of "Wild Dogs" written by TOMMY BOLIN. Glenn played with Tommy in DEEP PURPLE and the track is a tribute to his friend and longtime bandmate. Tommy's brother Johnnie Bolin sits in on drums. The song produced in that session is not just another great blues rock tune by these guys...it's a reverent testimony of their shared love for Tommy and the music.
