How's it goin?I've been layin around alot, just sorta chillin and stuff.I watch a little news and Conan, but the TV
generally bores me unless it's a really active cartoon or if maestro man brings home a funny DVD with some clown
like Woody Allen or Steve Martin.it has to be someone silly that jumps around a bit to really hold my attention.
But enough about me for now.
The Maestro has been pretty busy working on songs and recording projects. He's on the phone alot lately too.
It seems like he's out alot either giging or watching other bands. he was really raving about this King's X band
but he said they were so loud that it was hard to enjoy seeing one of his favorite guitarist and singers,He also
said there were alot of pretty drunk people acting kind of silly but what's new?I'll stick with the catnip.it gives me a mild buzz but I can still maintain. And since I don't have to drive it's cool.
Then he got back real late the other night raving about this Oteil and The Pacemakers. He said that the singer is awesome and that Oteil is one of his favorite bassists ever, that they lay down a real funky groove but they are
such great and soulful musicians that it never gets boring. What I think is cool is that Oteil plays with The Allcat Bros.I love those guys! They do some great songs like Ramblin Cat,Scratchin Post, and Ain't Wastin Twine No More! They really rock!
But as long as Maestro keeps gigging and bringing home the food and litter I'm happy.i've got a pretty good life
with a roof,a funky little catbed and some good tunes to chill to.I guess this is that time we all can find something to be thankful for.I'm The Buddy Cat and I've got to sign out for now.A little bite to eat and a nap sounds real good about now...

Hey, you out in webland. Buddy has been kind of off the web with a sore paw, but it's almost healed so I'm sure he'll be back soon.

So anyway, my October European tour has been postponed and I am currently in the middle of planning several projects, a new heavy bluesrock CD, a more fusion instrumental CD, and an acoustic oriented CD. I have really been having fun with the acoustic live sets I have been doing lately. Played at the Mill in Iowa City last week with this guy called Preacher Boy.This guy is a cool songwriter and an awesome slide dobro player. We had some great duet jams at the end of the night.

There is definitely a lot of strange weather and geographical things going on around the planet these days, isn't there. Just strange and sort of irritating
news in general. I'm just thankful for the beauty of nature and music as an inspiration and comfort in the middle of so much bad news.

Here's some stuff I've been inpired by lately:

Shawn Lane-Paris DVD(fascinating, unique, amazing!)

Joni Mitchell-Refuge Of The Roads-DVD
(assured performances of masterful modern pop poetry
artsy tour documentary clips, and an absolutely killer band
including Vinnie Coluita's brutal drumming,Larry Kleins
Jaco meets Jeff Berlin bass and the burning wailing guitar
work of one of the best-Michael Landau!)

Lalah Hathaway-new CD (like her father Donny she oozes sweet, velvet soul singing and warm R+B grooves with delicious Fender Rhodes tones) gorgeous record!

Napoleon Dynamite - movie (who cares what Ebert says-this is a high school nerd meets Woody Allen masterpiece-creative, funny, weird, and wonderful with retro Farfisa meets funk soundtrack and a Llama with the munchies.)

Chris Whitley - two new CD's-simply brilliant as usual.

Well, there's never enough time for me to practice(play), write and demo songs
so I better get to it.

Thanks Buddy, for the use of your forum. I'll get you some fresh catnip!

A long weekend...does this mean I'll see the maestro more?Maybe...hope he sleeps late...hate when he turns on the living room light too early when I'm crashed on the couch...but I usually just put my paws over my eyes and get
back into dreamland...yeah,I kind of do snooze alot(yawn...)
yeah,I think he's got two gigs tommorrow...man,he must really love to play music...seems like if he's not gigging or practicing,he's recording or writing...I hope he watches a cool DVD this weekend sometime..maybe he'll
drop some popcorn on the floor..YUMMY!
So like anyway good news is his October tour is postponed,so I get to chase his feet around and and scare myself
like a halloween cat...ok,so I don't get out much!
But i heard him on the phone and he said he's working on 2 or 3 CD projects so he'll be too busy for jet-setting
for the time being...I hope he makes a great record, makes some cash and then I get that expensive food/water bowl
set and the high-grade catnip I keep hearing about...but really I'm not that materialistic,I just enjoy a good
catnip party now and then and after that I usually take a"catnap"(yawn)
which reminds me...goodnight

Yeah,it's not he easiest living with a musician. They are out late,on tour and leaves stuff laying around. But I get to hear songs in their early stage and he does feed me pretty good food and I can't
complain too much since I used to live outside and it was very competitive with the other cats and I
really hated the cold weather!I used to sleep under the house to stay warm...So it was kind of groovy
that Craig took me in.So yeah,i like music and I'm OK with the DVD's he picks out usually.I dig the
Hendrix and Bob Marley stuff, and that Joni Mitchell stuff is pretty interesting I guess. She sings like.. well ,a bird, but anyway I'll give you the lowdown on the maestro Craig.(I call him "maestro"
just for a laugh...I mean geez,He calls me "buddy boy" and stuff so why not, know what i mean?
anyway,I'm ready for a nap...later...
